PARIS — A kitchen fire at a home at 239 East Oxford Road was quickly doused late Thursday afternoon.
Fire Chief Brad Frost said damage was isolated in the kitchen area. The cause was “most probably” a heat lamp that was being used to incubate eggs, he said.
No one was home at the time of the fire. The owner is part of the Shaw family farm, but the actual farm on East Oxford Road was not involved in the fire.
Fire departments from Paris, Norway, Oxford and a truck from Hebron, plus PACE ambulance, responded to the call at 3:45 p.m. Firefighters were on the scene for less than an hour.
