LEWISTON — Lucille A. Meservier, 80, of Autumn Ln. in Lewiston, passed away Friday morning at her home, surrounded by close family.
Born in Lewiston, the daughter of Alcene and Alice (Delorme) Perreault, Lucille was educated at Holy Cross School in Lewiston. She later married Armand A. Meservier, and together, they had two children. She worked as a weaver at several mills throughout Lewiston, and later worked for Mr. Joseph Groleau at Mary’s Candy Shop on Main st. in Lewiston. She went on to purchase the store with her husband and ran the business until they sold the store in 1995, though Lucille stayed on as the candy-dipper until the store closed more than a decade later.
Lucille enjoyed spending time visiting with family, playing cards, cooking, and taking bus trips to Foxwoods and Monhegan Sun casinos with her husband and close family and friends. She also loved to crochet; creating beautiful afghans, dolls, and clothing, which she shared with many dear friends and family members.
Lucile is survived by her son-in-law Anthony G. Arsenault; grandson Christian A. Arsenault; and wife Casey of Lisbon; 2 great-grandchildren Hannah C. Arsenault and Hunter W. Arsenault; her brothers Normand Perreault of Greene; Real Perreault and wife Laurie, of Lewiston; and Richard Perreault and wife Pauline of Lewiston; as well as several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Armand; their son Armand A. Meservier Jr.; and daughter Constance J. Arsenault.
