LIVERMORE FALLS — The local Downtown Betterment Group wants to know what you like about the town?
The question is being asked on the group’s newly created Facebook page: www.facebook.com/livermorefallsbetterment
The page was launched in October. It features short clips on local businesses, historical information and photos of Livermore Falls, news of events in town, and pieces relevant to downtown revitalization.
Over the next few weeks the group will pose a few questions on the page to elicit feedback. Respondents will be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift certificate if they also “Like” the group’s Facebook page. The gift certificate will be to a Livermore Falls business of the winner’s choice. The drawing for this first question will be held on Dec. 8, during the “Spirit of the Season” festivities.
The Betterment Group’s mission is “to revitalize the downtown village area both economically and esthetically,” President Kathleen Szostek said in a release.
Narrowing the geographic focus enables the group to most effectively and creatively work with the resources it has, both in terms of participation and funds, she said.
The mission recognizes the role that a healthy and vital downtown plays in the economic viability and vibrancy of the entire community. Beyond the mandate, the group aims to support the wider community, both directly and by partnering with other local organizations.
Meetings of the board are held on the second Tuesday of each month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Livermore Falls Town office. Members invite people to join them. Call 897-6158 to confirm the meeting location.
