LIVERMORE — Four applications for treasurer were received by the deadline Monday, Board of Selectpersons Chairman John Wakefield said Wednesday.

The board reviewed the applications in executive session and have decided to interview three of the prospects, he said.

The interviews will be conducted on Tuesday night in executive sessions, he said.

Two of the candidates are from Livermore and the other is from out-of-town, he said. The law allows selectmen to appoint someone to fill the position regardless of where a person lives, he said.

The person appointed will be tasked with completing the two-year term of former Treasurer Cathy Lee of Livermore.

Lee was elected in June over Kurt Schaub of Livermore, who had been treasurer for 10 years. Lee resigned in October.

Schaub was temporarily appointed last month in a mixed vote to be interim treasurer until a new treasurer is appointed.
