DURHAM — A 25-year-old Lewiston driver suffered minor injuries Tuesday morning in a two-car crash on Royalsborough Road.

Androscoggin County Deputy Sheriff Nate Humphrey identified the injured driver as Hilowle Aden of Knox Street, and the second driver as Joe Swenson, 38, of South Portland.

According to Humphrey, Swenson was driving north and became distracted when he dropped something, causing his car to swerve to the left and its mirror to clip the mirror of Aden’s approaching car.

Aden overcorrected, the deputy said, causing his car to skip off the road into a utility pole. He complained of pain and possible head injuries and was transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston by Durham Fire & Rescue.

Aden escaped injury. Damage to his 2009 Chevrolet Aveo was estimated at $3,000.

Swenson’s 2002 Chevrolet Malibu was not damaged in the 9:26 a.m. crash.

No charges were filed.
