AUBURN — Central Maine Community College will offer an introduction to occupational health and safety class to the public in the spring semester. The class will meet from 6 to 8:55 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 16 through May 1.

The course introduces stu­dents to the disciplines and fundamentals of workplace health and safety. Participants will learn to identify safety and health issues in the workplace and develop health and safety programs to address them.

The course is open to anyone who needs to manage a health and safety program or performs the record keeping requirements. Registration is open and ongoing but space is limited. The cost is $332.40 and includes tuition, fees and all materials, except the textbook. Students successfully completing the course will receive three college credits.
