On Oct. 26, 45 people gathered at the Wilkins House in Waterford for the harvest potluck supper and decorated pumpkin contest. Children came in costume and paraded around proudly to show them off. Sixteen pumpkins were entered into the contest; Karen Fillebrown’s pumpkin was declared the winner since it had the most money collected. In all, $254 was collected from the pumpkin votes, and the Waterford Congregational Sunday School has purchased a goat, a pig and a flock of chicks for the Heifer Fund. These animals will be part of Heifer Funds’ program to help families around the world to become self sufficient.
