RANGELEY — Saddleback Ski Resort announced it will open for the season Saturday, Dec. 15.

The ski area is expected to have six trails and two chairlifts open to service terrain for intermediate and novice skiers and snowboarders. The Free Rider Terrain Park will also be open.

All services will be available, including ski school, rental and ski shops, day care, food court, coffee bar and the Swig ‘n Smelt Pub, which features live entertainment.

Lift tickets are $29 from opening day through Dec. 20.

“Snow-making temperatures are forecast through the weekend and we will be opening additional terrain as conditions permit,” Saddleback General Manager Chris Farmer said in a statement.

The 4,717-foot Rangeley Chair will provide access to two major top-to-bottom runs for intermediates, while the Sandy Chair will service the Wheeler Slope for novices.
