FARMINGTON — Several Christmas services and events are planned locally, including:

Sunday, Dec. 23: 

Madrid, Reeds Mill Church, annual Candlelight Christmas Service at 3 p.m. FMI or directions: Ginni at 639-2713.

Monday,  Dec 24:

Farmington: Celebrate the birth of Jesus at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve at a candlelight service at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, 110 Academy St. Members of HMBC and Summit Faith Community who are sharing the building will participate in the service. All are welcome. An offering will be accepted for ECU-HEAT, an ecumenical heating program that provides emergency oil deliveries to Franklin County families.

Farmington: Fairbanks Union Church’s Christmas Eve service begins at 7 p.m. Monday. This will be a traditional service of lessons and carols. The church is at 583 Fairbanks Road. FMI: call 684-2108 or website: www.fairbanksunionmaine.org

Farmington: Ecumenical Christmas Eve service begins at 11 p.m. Monday at Old South Congregational Church on Main Street. The service is coordinated by the Farmington Area Ecumenical Ministry.

Jay: Bean’s Corner Baptist Church will hold a Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m. Dec. 24.  The church is at the intersection of Routes 156 and 133.

Wilton: St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Christmas Eve service, Monday, at 5:30 p.m. The Holy Communion includes many Christmas carols and features a chancel drama by noted local actor Michael Cooper. The church is at 59 High St. FMI: 645-2639 or [email protected]. Early arrival is recommended, as the church is usually full at this service. 

Tuesday, Dec. 25:

Livermore Falls: Christmas dinner, noon to 1:30 p.m., George Bunten Post 10, American Legion, 17 Reynolds Ave. Free, reservations, local deliveries: 897-3593.
