Travis Burnham, 17, works in the new “Create! Media Lab” at the Auburn Public Library on Thursday. Available for APL and Lewiston Public Library cardholders, the digital media center contains three Mac computers that are equipped with software and accessories such as a keyboard, flatbed scanners, microphones, studio lights, a video and a still camera. Located on the second floor, the lab is designed to hold up to six individuals and will be available to those of high school age or older. Each Mac can be reserved in two-hour block sessions, media lab specialist Donna Wallace said. The library will host workshops where area professionals will teach participants how to use the software and equipment, Wallace said. Burnham, a junior at Edward Little High School, has volunteered 247 hours at the library since the seventh grade. “It’s like my second home,” he said.
