DIXFIELD — The Dixfield Police Department responded to 40 complaints over the last two weeks. Among the complaints were the following:
* On Feb. 4, a Dixfield resident reported an attempted scam. According to Sgt. Jeff Howe of the Dixfield Police Department, many residents are falling victim to a scam that involves an unknown person calling and claiming to be tech support with Windows. The scammer tells residents that their computers are infected with a virus and offers to sell an anti-virus program in return for credit card and personal information. Howe asks that residents hang up the phone if they receive a call of this nature.
* At 2:04 p.m. Feb. 1, officer Dustin M. Broughton responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 108. Upon investigating the scene, Broughton arrested Mark Tozier, 55, of Dixfield on a charge of operating under the influence. Toxier was taken to the Rumford Police Station for a breath test, then to the Oxford County Jail and held in lieu of bail.
* At 3:52 a.m. Jan. 27, officer Anne Edmunds responded to a report of domestic violence on Weld Street. Upon investigating, Edmunds arrested Krystal Pilvelait, 26, of Dixfield on a charge of domestic assault. Pilvelait was taken to the Oxford County Jail and held in lieu of bail.
* Dixfield police are seeking any information on the location of Joshua R. Pollis. Pollis has multiple warrants in multiple states, including a warrant in Dixfield on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking.
