MEXICO — The Police Department responded to 27 incidents over the last week. Among them were:

* At 11:07 a.m. Feb. 12, police responded to a two-vehicle crash on River Road near the Veterans Bridge. Lt. Roy Hodsdon said a Lexus driven by Darrell Tuenge, 73, of Dixfield was traveling east on River Road and slowing down as he approached the intersection of Veterans Bridge. A Jeep driven by Amanda Blodgett, 34, of Mexico struck the rear bumper of Tuenge’s car.

Hodsdon reported Blodgett was checking her cellphone at the time of the collision. She was cited on a charge of distracted driving, which includes a $135 fine.

Hodsdon said Tuenge was able to drive his car from the scene, even though there was substantial damage.
