Tish Carr, forester and Norway’s tree warden, recently led a winter tree identification snowshoe walk with 12 participants and four dogs at Witt Swamp Preserve in Norway as part of the Great Maine Outdoors weekend. The program was co-sponsored by the McLaughlin Garden and Homestead and the Western Foothills Land Trust. Although originally scheduled for the newly opened Packard Trail at the Virgil Parris Forest, the walk was moved due to difficult road conditions on the Sodom Road in Buckfield on Feb. 17.
