KINGFIELD — Selectmen decided to fill two municipal positions with familiar faces.

Former town clerk and tax collector Leanna Ross Targett has accepted the vacant administrative assistant position, and deputy clerk and tax collector Erica Bracy will step into Targett’s position.

Douglas Marble resigned his position as administrative assistant to accept other employment, and selectmen had little debate about Targett’s qualifications as his replacement.

“She stepped into this job like she’s been doing it all her life,” board Chairman Heather Moody said on Wednesday. “The transition has been just great, even though everyone’s been really busy adjusting to new roles and still doing their regular jobs.”

Targett has been working in the Kingfield town office at Webster Hall for the town for several years and has become a familiar face behind the counter.

“I’m looking forward to the challenges that this position offers, but I know I have the support of the selectmen and town staff as we move forward,” Targett said.

Since Marble was also the town’s code enforcement officer and plumbing inspector, selectmen recruited expertise from a neighboring town. Tom Marcotte of Strong will fill that position. Moody said selectmen plan to interview and hire someone to fill the deputy clerk and deputy treasurer position held by Bracy.

In other news, Moody said selectmen have scheduled a second public hearing at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 4, at Webster Hall. This hearing will satisfy the criteria for the town’s application for a Community Development Block Grant to fund the wastewater system’s repairs and upgrades.
