MEXICO — The Mexico Police Department responded to 38 incidents over the past week. Among the incidents were the following:

Accidents

At 3:55 p.m. Feb. 23, Baily M. Williams of Dixfield was traveling west on Route 2 in his 1998 Pontiac when he attempted to pass a vehicle ahead of him. Due to the weather conditions that caused the road to be slippery, Williams’ vehicle lost traction with the ground. Williams attempted to regain control of the car, which caused it to spin, hit a frozen snow bank and flip over onto the roof.

Williams was helped out of the car by a nearby witness and later complained of general dizziness. The car was totaled.

Thefts

* A Back Kingdom Road resident reported at 6:54 p.m. Feb. 21 that someone attempted to break into their house. Lt. Roy Hodsdon said that upon arrival, police found that someone had attempted to gain access to the residence but had apparently been spooked and left the scene. Police currently have no suspects.

* At 12:01 p.m. Feb. 19, a Walmart employee reported that someone had entered the store and stolen merchandise. The employee said they were unable to catch the customer before he left with the merchandise, and police were unable to track down the suspect. Hodsdon said that police are waiting on video surveillance to continue the investigation.
