WATERFORD — Selectman Wyatt Andrews won re-election to a seat on the Board of Selectmen in Friday’s annual town election.

With only 36 ballots being cast by 4 p.m. and another 15 or so by the close of polls at 8 p.m., Andrews was declared the winner with 48 votes. John Huffman received 5 write-in votes.

In the vote for a seat on the Oxford Hills School District board of directors, Judith Green received 49 votes. Tony Butterall got one write-in vote.

Longtime SAD 17 Director Bill Hanger decided not to seek re-election to the board this year. He was appointed in March 2003 to fill a vacancy and elected the following year.

Green will join the board for her first meeting on Monday when directors will act to replace Hanger’s vacancy on the school’s Finance Committee.

Andrews will join selectmen today at the town meeting in the Waterford Municipal Building at 9 a.m. Voters will act on a 72-article warrant including a $1.2 million municipal budget.
