DIXFIELD – The Police Department responded to 36 incidents over the last two weeks. Among the incidents are the following:
Arrests:
* At 1:04 a.m. March 3, Officer Eric Bernier of the responded to a report of a car accident with injury on Morrison Hill. Bernier found that Matthew Marshall, 26, of Wilton was traveling west on Route 2 when he lost control of his 2002 Chevrolet van and crashed. Marshall was taken to the Rumford Hospital for treatment and was arrested on a charge of operating under the influence. Marshall was released from the hospital and was transported to the Oxford County Jail, where he was held in lieu of bail.
* At 4:10 p.m. Feb. 20, Officer Dustin Broughton responded to a report of domestic assault at a Rollins Ridge Road home. Upon investigating, Broughton arrested Justin Ridley, 30, of Dixfield for violation of bail conditions. Ridley was bailed from the Dixfield Police Station with a court date of April 2.
Thefts
* A Dixfield landlord reported at 10:30 a.m. March 1 that someone stole a table and bench from one of his apartment buildings while it was in storage. The items are valued at around $50. The case is currently being investigated.
*A 17-year-old Dirigo High School student reported at 8:26 p.m. Feb. 28 that her purse had been stolen from her backpack while in school earlier that day. Inside the purse was about $30 in cash. The case is still open to investigations.
Accidents
* At 5:06 p.m. Feb. 27, Sgt. Jeffrey Howe responded to a report of a crash on Canton Point Road. Howe found that Molly Hailand-Vanlieu, 21, of Dixfield was traveling west on Canton Point Road when she attempted to move as she approached a plow truck. Hailand-Vanlieu lost control of her 2000 Ford sedan and overcorrected, sliding sideways into the eastbound lane. Antonio Demillo, 50, was traveling east in his 2011 Toyota truck and struck Hailand-Vanlieu’s vehicle. Both vehicles were totaled and there were no injuries.
* At 5:21 p.m. Feb. 23, Officer Broughton responded to a report of an accident on Weld Street. He found Diane Bowden, 51, of Rumford was traveling south when she lost control of her 1999 Chevrolet SUV due to slippery roads and crashed. Bowden, along with the passenger Amanda Bryce, 26, of Rumford, were transported to the Rumford Hospital to be checked out. The vehicle received about $2,500 damage.
