PORTLAND — Hearst Television Inc., parent of WMTW, has earned its seventh consecutive USC Cronkite Award for excellence in television political journalism.

It reflects the work of WMTW, along with Hearst news stations across the country.

WMTW is a digital multimedia company providing content to WMTW 8, WMTW HD on 8.2 (Channels 08, 508 and 708 on Time Warner Cable systems), daily NEWS 8 NOW programs on Time Warner channel 165, WMTW.com, mobile platforms and apps.

WMTW, home of NEWS 8, produces 25.5 hours of local news per week and NEWS 8 has been honored with three Emmy Awards for Best Newscast in New England and Six Regional Edward R. Murrow awards for the continuing pursuit of excellence in journalism.

WMTW 8, the ABC affiliate, serves viewers across Southern Maine and eastern New Hampshire and is owned by Hearst Television Inc.
