WILTON — Local artist Eli Bertin will host Craft Night at the Wilton Free Public library from 5:30 to 7 p.m. every other Wednesday evening starting March 13.

Participants can bring their craft project or Bertin will help them start one.

Bertin, a native of Canada, grew up in Rumford and resides in Wilton. After two years of working in her own sewing shop, she decided to pursue her passion for art full-time. She has 30 years of experience in abstract and landscape painting.

Bertin received her art education at UMaine-Presque Isle and the Maine College of Art in Portland. Her work has been shown at the Turner Center for the Arts and many Portland venues, including the Lewis Gallery and many commercial locations.

Her inspiration comes from nature and indigenous art such as Native American, Aboriginal and African. She also has 15 years experience in free-style drumming (hand drums), and has taught classes and performed at fairs and festivals throughout Maine.

Her current obsession is origami.
