OXFORD — Firefighters responded to an electrical fire at the Municipal Center that forced the evacuation of the offices shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday.

No injuries were reported and there was no damage to the building at 85 Pleasant St.

Deputy Chief David Heidrich of the Oxford Fire Department and Town Manager Michael Chammings said the smoke appeared to come from a burned light ballast in the first floor men’s room.

Area towns sent emergency personnel to the center to assist Oxford firefighters or to cover stations. They included Mechanic Falls, Norway, Paris and West Paris.
