Spruce Mountain High School sophomore Anthony York of Jay sits at the wheel of a state police driving simulator while Jay police detectives Mike Mejia and Richard Caton IV watch this week. The interactive computer allows students to experience what it would be like to drive while texting or under the influence. It also takes students through crashes and resulting injuries, police and medical responses, court appearances and jail sentences. Health teacher James Robinson set up the device in his classroom.
