LISBON — A miscalculation on Lisbon Road on Tuesday afternoon left a tractor-trailer straddling the guardrail and traffic backed up through the evening commute.
According to Officer Darin Estes of the Lisbon Police Department, Eugene Ellis of Frankfort was driving a tractor-trailer owned by Maine Trailer, Inc. of Bangor, west at 3:24 p.m. He said a vehicle ahead of Ellis was stopped to make a left turn onto Moody Road. Ellis attempted to go around it using the breakdown lane, misjudged the distance and drove up onto the guardrail.
The accident shut down the westbound lane of Route 196 until 6:17 p.m.
Estes said Officer Richard St. Amant responded to the call. No charges have been filed.
