PARIS — The town will contract a part-time police chief while searching for a full-time replacement for interim Chief Michael Dailey.
Dailey’s last day is April 26.
Town Manager Amy Bernard said Monday that she has sent requests for proposals and expects at least three to come in this week. Whoever is hired will work between 24 and 30 hours per week, she said. The town is looking at experienced candidates.
She and the board will review proposals in an executive session this month and plan to extend an offer to the best candidate.
“This person will not be an employee. It will be an outside, third-party person overseeing our department,” Bernard told the board. The board planned to make a final decision before the April 22 meeting.
Dailey, who replaced David Verrier, has accepted a job as a deputy with the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.
