NORWAY — Dr. Kate Herlihy, Oxford Hills’ wellness champion and community health leader, will be the guest speaker at the 2013 Tri-County Work Healthy! Awards Celebration next month.

It’s set from 3 to 4:30 p.m. May 29 at the Harper Conference Room, Ripley Medical Building. Businesses being recognized for participation in the 2013 Work Healthy! program are invited to attend.

Recognition plaques will be presented to businesses that prioritize the health of their employees through writing and maintaining good health policies, beginning with tobacco use regulation, signage and supportive resources for decreasing tobacco dependence. Businesses can earn a higher award status for supporting employee health and wellness through nutritional education, offering low cost healthy snacks, prompting stretch breaks and encouraging walking or helping with the cost of fitness classes or gym memberships.

To be eligible for an award, businesses must reapply or, if new to the program, must complete an application. For a Work Healthy! 2013 application or to reapply, contact: [email protected] by April 30.

The Work Healthy! program is hosted by Healthy Oxford Hills, a Healthy Maine Partnership and a project of Stephens Memorial Hospital.
