MEXICO – The Police Department responded to 52 incidents over the last week. Among them are the following:

Arrests

* At 10:21 a.m. May 1, Lt. Roy Hodsdon arrested Alan Chimsky-Lustig, 21, of Sun Valley Circle, on a warrant by the District Attorney’s office charging violation of bail conditions. He is being held without bail at the Oxford County Jail.

Chimsky-Lustig was arrested April 24 on two charges of gross sexual assault on a boy under the age of 12. He was released on personal recognizance bail Friday.

The sexual assault charges are Class A offenses punishable by up to 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000.

Thefts/Burglaries

* At 8 a.m. April 29, Rare Woods USA on Swift River Road reported to police that some time in the past two months someone stole an aluminum ramp used to get product from their building into trailers. An employee at Rare Woods told police that they noticed it was missing when there was still snow on the ground and thought it may have been covered by snow. The ramp is valued at $1,200. Police currently have no suspects.

* A Spring Street resident reported at 8:42 a.m. April 28 that some time in the previous three weeks, someone stole their DVD/Blu-Ray player. The DVD player had a value of $120. Police have suspects.

* At 9 p.m. April 27, a female Mountain Valley Middle School student reported that her cellphone was stolen from her purse while attending the school’s semiformal dance. The phone is valued at $180. Police have a suspect.

* A Roxbury Road resident reported at 5:16 p.m. April 26 that some time in the past three to four weeks someone forcibly entered their residence and stole firearms and hand tools. Hodsdon said if anybody hears of somebody attempting to sell firearms or hand tools, to call the Mexico Police Department immediately.

Vandalism

* A Sun Valley Circle resident reported at 3:59 p.m. April 27 that the front of their residence was egged sometime during the previous night. Police currently have no suspects.
