FARMINGTON — Pavement preservation work near and at the Route 2 and 4 intersection will begin Monday, May 6, and motorists should expect delays, according to a release from the Maine Department of Transportation.

Flaggers will assist motorists with a single lane of alternating one-way traffic at the intersection.

Contractor Bruce A. Manzer of Anson will do the work for the $230,000 project. Paving will start from Monday, with completion anticipated in the first part of June.

Specific project locations are:

* Bridge Street, beginning at the intersection of Oakes Street and Winter Street and extending easterly 0.18 miles to Route 2 and 4.

* Oakes Street, beginning at the intersection of Winter Street, Temple Road and Bridge Street and extending southerly 0.23 miles to Routes 2 and 4.

* Winter Street, beginning 0.15 miles north of Marvel Street and extending southerly 0.30 miles to the intersection of Oakes Street, Temple Road and Bridge Street.
