LISBON — Lucien Brunelle, 64, of Lisbon Falls, sustained a head injury Monday afternoon when he “laid” his motorcycle down on Route 196 in order to avoid a collision.

According to the investigating officer, Darin Estes, Brunelle was traveling east on Route 196 in Lisbon Falls behind a 1998 Ford Ranger operated by Christopher Beaulieu, 26, of Lewiston when Beaulieu slowed down to make a right-hand turn onto Blethen Street.

Brunelle managed to avoid colliding with the pickup by “laying down” his two-wheeler, Estes said, but sustained a head injury when he was thrown to the ground. He was transported to CMMC by Lisbon Emergency. Damage was estimated at $1,000 to Brunelle’s 2002 Harley-Davidson in the 4:09 p.m. crash. No charges were filed.
