LIVERMORE FALLS — As the town celebrates its past during the annual History Night on Friday, May 24, the Western Maine Family Health Center is looking to the future. The Livermore Falls practice recently moved into a newly renovated, state-of-the-art medical facility and is holding an open house during the event.

The public is invited to take a tour of the health center and meet providers and staff from 4-8 p.m. The Health Center is in the historic Lamb Block at 10 Depot St., next to the Chuck Wagon restaurant.

There will be giveaways, a raffle and refreshments, and the public can learn more about the health center’s services and money-saving programs.

The iconic Lamb Block building, constructed in 1887, originally housed a hardware store owned by John F. Lamb, a significant figure in the town’s history. The building is a classic example of post-Civil War structures, complete with first-floor storefronts, second floor professional offices and a large, third-floor that was used as a meeting hall until about 1917. Lewiston-based Hebert Construction has renovated the third floor that will house the new health center.

The Western Maine Family Health Center began seeing patients at the new facility on Feb. 4. The Health Center now sits adjacent to the campus of the Androscoggin Valley Medical Arts Center, a branch of Franklin Memorial Hospital.

Patients at Western Maine who are referred to AVMAC will now be able to receive X-rays, ultrasounds, lab work, mammograms, physical therapy, orthopedics, obstetrics/gynecology and other specialist services without having to drive to a separate location.
