DIXFIELD — The RSU 10 Superintendent Search Committee has received four applications forwarded by the Maine School Management Association, committee Co-chairman Jerry Wiley said Thursday afternoon.

Two are from Maine.

Wiley said Superintendent Tom Ward and Assistant Superintendent Gloria Jenkins, committee co-chairwoman, will help the committee determine the next step in the process at a meeting scheduled for early next week.

The first round of applications netted six applications last month. After discussing the applicants’ qualifications, the committee decided the requirements for the position weren’t met and readvertised it.

Ward will leave his post June 30 to become superintendent of RSU 9 in Farmington.

On Monday, the RSU 10 board named Richard Abramson of Arundel to serve as interim superintendent part time this summer until a superintendent is chosen. He retired after serving as superintendent in Arundel, Wells-Ogunquit and RSU 38 in Readfield.
