Ski Club plans annual meeting

FARMINGTON — The Farmington Ski Club will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, June 10, at the Titcomb Mountain Lodge in West Farmington. All Farmington Ski Club members are invited to attend. Meeting agenda includes approval of slate of new directors and of budget for 2013-14 season.

Strong Library summer program

STRONG — Readers of all ages from 3 to adult will explore all things underground this summer as Strong Public Library presents “Dig Into Reading” during their summer library program. Activities will include programs on archaeology as well as activities focusing on dinosaurs, construction vehicles, animals that live underground, caves and rocks.

There will also be drawing for both a girls’ and boys’ bicycle for the children as well as various other prizes for all ages.

The 2013 Summer Reading Program is open to people, preschool through adult, and will include programs, snacks, story time and more.

Conservancy annual meeting

WILTON — The Foothills Land Conservancy will hold their annual meeting followed by the board of directors meeting from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at Academy Hill School cafeteria.

Homemakers group to meet

FARMINGTON — The Clearwater Homemakers will meet for a picnic and election of officers at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at Betty Wing’s camp.

WILTON — The Wilton Free Public Library Association will hold its Annual Meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, in the library.

The agenda is the election of trustees and officers to oversee the operation of the library. All Wilton residents are eligible association members and are encouraged to participate in the meeting.

Youth football clinic-camp

WATERVILLE — The Central Maine youth football clinic-camp is now in its 17th year of providing a fun, non-contact camp where boys and girls in grades 1-8 can participate and learn from professional football players. Two players teaching at this year’s camp have played professionally for New England.

The clinic will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 21, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at Weber Field on the West River Road. The clinic will be indoors in the case of rain.

Cost is $50 per child for both days. A barbecue lunch will be provided on Saturday. Autographs and photos with the players is always a big part of this experience.

Yard sale for literacy

FARMINGTON — A huge indoor yard sale will be a fundraiser for Literacy Volunteers from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at Mt. Blue High School, 129 Seamon Road.

Space will be rented out on a first come, first serve basis, so call LVFSC as soon as possible at 778-3460, ext. 22.

This will be a fun, family-friendly event. There will be hot dogs, popcorn, coffee, soda and a 50/50 raffle. For sale will be new or gently used household items, baby items, clothing, small furniture, books, toys, music, movies or crafts and more.

LVFSC is accepting donations for these types of items. Call to arrange for pickup until June 21. No adult rated content, weapons, fireworks, alcohol or smoking related items can be sold at the sale. Organizers also request no electronics, computers, printers, TVs, appliances or other items that require special disposal.
