AUGUSTA (AP) — An Augusta man wanted in connection with the weekend stabbing of a city woman has been captured after three days on the run.
Police, acting on a tip, say 44-year-old David Delesline was located around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday near where the attack took place. He was charged with elevated aggravated assault.
Police told the Kennebec Journal (http://bit.ly/14Zqv83 ) that Delesline, who had lacerations to both wrists, was taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta for treatment and for a psychological evaluation.
He is being held without bail pending a court appearance scheduled for Friday.
It was not clear if he had a lawyer.
Authorities said Delesline stabbed the 35-year-old victim several times about the head and face early Sunday morning. She has since been released from the hospital.
