The finalists for the Miss Maine Softball Award have been named. The winner, as well as regional awards, will be presented next Thursday at the Senior All-Star games at Cony High School.
The finalists include: Bucksport’s Cassidy Adams, South Portland’s Danica Gleason, Gardiner’s Taylor Bannister, Sanford’s Samantha Adams and Skowhegan’s Shelby Obert.
The Senior All-Stars games will be held Thursday, June 20 at Cony High School. The C/D game will be played at 4 p.m. followed by the A/B game at 7 p.m.
Among the locals participating for the A/B West team are Alex Thompson, Gray-New Gloucester, Kortni Michaud, Oak Hill, Alyssa Rouleau, Oak Hill, Brittina Maheux, Poland, Cassie Couture, Spruce Mountain and Ashley Robbins, Spruce Mountain.
On the C/D West squad are Tasha DeRoche, Dirigo, Cami Denney, Dirigo, Ambyr Wilson, Dirigo, Jill Howard, Mt. Abram, Taylor Jordan, Mt. Abram, Bethany Fox, St. Dom’s, Rachel Wheeler, Telstar and Cat Ouellette, Winthrop.
The games are scheduled for nine innings. There will be no make-up date if rained out.
The Maine State Softball Coaches Association is also hosting other games next week.
On Wednesday, June 19 at 2:30 p.m. there will be a Freshmen/Sophomores game at Saint Joseph’s College. Among the locals playing are Poland’s Kylie Martin and Gray-New Gloucester’s Zoe Adams on the West. Oxford Hills’ Annika Kahkonen and Anna Winslow will play for the East.
A game featuring juniors will follow at 5:30. Oak Hill’s Kelsey Collins will play for the West while the East team includes Telstar’s Jessie Dirago, Spruce Mountain’s LaDesta Tracy and Edward Little’s Danny Rock.
These will be 10 inning games
On Monday, June 24, the Maine vs. New Hampshire Seniors will be played at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Saint Joseph’s College.
