Construction crews work 7 days a week on new Auburn hockey arena.
Motorists using the Veterans Memorial Bridge from Lewiston to Auburn were able to see the large crane poking out of the treetops in the distance as it was being used to erect the framing of the new twin hockey rinks next to the Auburn Mall. Construction was delayed three times so the target completion date of November kept construction crews working seven days a week. The arena will have seats for 811 spectators in one rink and 200 in a second rink with 80 to 100 seats in a shared mezzanine. The arena will have seven locker rooms, two for referees, four for coaches and a unisex locker room.
