LIVERMORE FALLS — A Knapp Street resident preparing to go to work at 4:42 a.m. Tuesday discovered that a picture window in his house was shot with a BB gun, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.
The family had heard a noise about 11 p.m. that woke them up, but didn’t get up to check on it, he said.
The BB hole in the window was discovered at 4:42 a.m., he said. The damage is estimated at $500.
At 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, three youths were reported to be going through backyards in the Sewall Street area, off Route 133 and Depot Street. Police located two 15-year-old boys from Jay and a 16-year-old boy from Auburn on Church Street, Steward said.
Police gave them a verbal warning of violation of the town’s curfew ordinance and sent them home, he said.
In a Monday afternoon incident, two 13-year-old boys were involved in a fight at the Tri-Town Skateboard Park off Foundry Road.
A Jay boy is accused of calling a Livermore Falls boy names and the latter confronted the name-caller and was shoved.
The Livermore Falls boy started punching the Jay boy, Steward said. Another person at the park hit the Livermore Falls boy in the head with a skateboard to try to protect the Jay boy, he said.
Police responded to the scene. No charges were filed because it appeared to be a mutual incident, he said.
