RUMFORD — Selectmen have a relatively short agenda to work through at their regular meeting that was rescheduled to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, from the Fourth of July.
The board normally meets on the first and third Thursdays each month in Rumford Falls Auditorium.
Most of the business deals with the July 23 special secret poll meeting, at which residents will vote on selectmen and Finance Committee recommendations for a new municipal budget. Their initial proposed municipal budget was mostly defeated on June 11 at the annual town meeting referendum.
Selectmen on Wednesday night are expected to approve the warrant for the July 23 polls, appoint a warden and deputy wardens for that election and field a request from the voter registrar to eliminate night hours.
The board is also asked to approve straw poll questions for the election.
Roger Arsenault, president of the Black Mountain Board of Directors, will update the board on the Rumford ski hill.
Additionally, Town Manager Carlo Puiia has asked selectmen to appoint board and committee positions.
In other business, the board will be asked to discuss and possibly approve animal sheltering services for the new fiscal year that began Monday.
There is also one executive session scheduled for a personnel matter.
