RANGELEY — A photograph from the collection of Peter Berhman, son of famed local photographer Madeleine de Sinety, will be dedicated at the Rangeley Lakes Region Logging Museum at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29.

The museum is at 221 Stratton Road.

The large black and white Polaroid© titled “Uphill” features a man working a team of horses on a hillside. The unique point of view captures drama and action. The artwork measures approximately 36 by 48 inches.

Berhman will speak at the dedication. There may be a special appearance by local storyteller “Jeep” Wilcox.

De Sinety was born and raised in France but lived many years in Rangeley. She traveled the world creating her masterpieces. Her her most famous works were from Africa, France and the United States.

Her most recent show was at the Portland Museum of Art in October 2011 along with another local well-known artist, William Wegman.  Madeline de Sinety passed away in December 2011.

There is no charge for this event. For members of the Logging Museum, the annual general membership meeting follows immediately at 6:30 p.m.
