JAY — Farmington police recovered a stolen truck in the Whittier Road area in Farmington, police said.
The Nissan truck was stolen either late Aug. 18 or early Aug. 19 from a Route 4 residence in North Jay. The 1996 pickup truck had a flat tire when it was abandoned, Jay Detective Richard Caton IV said Tuesday. That was the only damage he could see, he said.
The truck has been returned to its owner.
The same night the truck was reported stolen, a new Ariens riding lawn mower was stolen from another residence on Route 4 in the Jay Hill area.
It was heavily damaged when it was recovered last Wednesday after rolling off the Whistle-Stop Trail into a stone wall in North Jay. It was halfway between the two residences, which are about a mile apart.
Police are continuing that investigation.
