LISBON — Two people were arrested and nine other adults and five juveniles were given court summonses last week at an underage drinking party, police Chief David Brooks said Wednesday.
Zachary Childs, 21, of Oxford was arrested on a charge of furnishing liquor to minors, a misdemeanor, Brooks said. Elyssa Hubert, 18, of Lisbon was arrested on a charge of providing a place for illegal consumption, a misdemeanor, and given a summons on a charge of allowing minors to possess or consume alcohol.
Both are to be arraigned in 8th District Court on Oct. 9.
They are among 11 adults and five juveniles charged with alcohol violations stemming from a party at a home on Crest Avenue last week, Brooks said.
The other adults given summonses were: Andrew Gamache, 18, of Lisbon; Tyler J.R. Dery, 19, of Auburn; David A. Torres Jr., 19, of Lisbon; Hope Michaud, 18, of Harrison; Nicholas Collins, 18, of Lisbon Falls; Elliot Manocal, 18, of Lisbon; Kaine M.H. Petrencik, 20, of Lisbon; Matthew B. Call, 19, of Lisbon; and Jodie E. Day, 19, of Brunswick.
The juveniles will be referred to a juvenile community corrections worker in Auburn.
“The Police Department has a long history of working to combat the issues of underage drinking in the community,” Brooks said. “And I would like to take this opportunity to remind young people and their parents of the serious consequences that can happen when youth use alcohol.
“The youth at this party parked at a public lot, away from the residence, in an attempt to avoid being detected,” he said. “It is believed that if police had not intervened that, when the party ended, many of them would have returned to their vehicles to drive away, putting themselves and others at risk.”
