AUBURN — Jan Fournier, chief financial and administrative officer at Central Maine Orthopaedics, has earned the professional designation of certified medical practice executive, or CMPE, from the American College of Medical Practice Executives.

The designation demonstrates that Fournier has achieved board certification in medical practice management. CMPE candidates are required to pass rigorous essay and objective examinations that assess knowledge of the broad scope of medical practice management skills. These include business operations, financial management, human resource management, information management, organizational governance, patient care systems, quality management and risk management. Candidates must also earn a minimum of 50 continuing education credit hours.

At CMO, Fournier is responsible for financial administrative operations. In this capacity, she oversees the financial health of the corporation and its related entities and partnerships, and helps ensure efficient services designed to meet the needs of patients, physicians, CMO operations, the public and CMO staff.
