A Dresden man admitted in court Tuesday to conspiring to rob the Walgreens pharmacy in Bath.

Nicholas Alexander, 23, entered a guilty plea to a charge of conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery in U.S. District Court in Portland. He faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

Alexander and others robbed the pharmacy on June 14, according to court records. Alexander handed a note to a pharmacist that read: “You have 20 seconds to give me all your Oxycodone 15 mg tablets and 30s or I will blow your (expletive) brains out.” He was given a bag containing 11 bottles of Oxycodone tablets. Police later tracked him to a motel in Wiscasset. He had 600 of the pills in his possession.

During an interview, Alexander admitted robbing the store. He said he used some of the medication and sold some.

Those involved in the investigation included the Bath Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
