TURNER – The last public supper of the season will feature the bounty of fall at the traditional Harvest Supper at the North Turner Presbyterian Church.
This year’s celebration of harvest will be take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the GAR Hall on Howes Corner Road (Route 219).
It will feature baked turkey, stuffing, squash, potatoes, gravy and salads, as well as homemade rolls and pies from the cooks of North Turner. Special additions from people’s gardens usually show up on the tables, including pickles, pickled beets and other signs of the season.
This supper also is one of the last opportunities to bid on this year’s handmade quilt. It will be awarded to the highest bidder in a silent auction following the last concert in the Fall Music Series on Dec. 7.
The last of the church’s cookbooks will be for sale as well. For more information, call Jody at 225-3370, Punk and Laverna at 224-7913 or Marie at 224-8007.
There is no set price for the supper, but goodwill donations are taken at the door and go toward the church’s operational budget and outreach work at the Community Clothing Center and the Turner Food Bank.
