RUMFORD — The Rumford United Methodist Church is in full swing preparing for their annual HomeMade For The Holiday Fair to be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.
Fresh made doughnuts, coffee and tea will welcome shoppers at the Hospitality Table. Naomi Robertson and Peggy Welch will be wrapping up goodies at the Bake Table. There is always a wonderful assortment of baked goods and some sampler plates will be available this year.
The ladies of the church work all year preparing for the Christmas Table and Crafts Table. There will be pot-holders, crochet topped kitchen towels, cotton dish cloths, aprons, microwave corn bags and fleece mittens.
Back this year are gift baskets in a variety of themes, including Gardener’s Basket, two Soup Lovers Baskets, Movie Night Baskets, a variety of bath baskets and even some for pets. Most are $15 and under so they make really affordable Christmas or hostess gifts.
Jane Shuck will guide visitors through the silent auction process, where the quilters show off items they’ve made for the fair.
Dee Holman is back this year with vintage jewelry. Estate and costume jewelry reign here. Many a bargain can be found at this table.
Mary Pulsifer will be upstairs with Krafters Korner. This area is a riot of craft supplies, unfinished craft projects, knitting needles, yarn, cotton, yard goods and everything crafty.
A corn chowder lunch will be provided by Judy Kuhn and her kitchen helpers.
