FRYEBURG — The award-winning, internationally renowned a cappella jazz quintet, Vox One will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center.

Since forming in 1988, Vox One has been combining elements of blues, funk, gospel, and folk into their own brand of vocal music, which is considered to be on the cutting edge of a cappella.

A first-time listener of Vox One may be amazed to hear a variety of instruments such as drums, bass, horns, and guitar.

Jodi Jenkins-Ainsworth (soprano), Yumiko Matsuoka (alto), Paul Stiller (tenor/vocal drums), Paul Pampinella (baritone), and Tom Baskett (bass), met at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where all of them are now (or have been) on the faculty.

The eight-time state champion Fryeburg Academy Vocal Jazz Ensemble will accompany Vox One during the show.

The Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center is at 18 Bradley Street, Fryeburg Academy. Tickets are $25 adults, $20 seniors, and $10 students. Order online at www.fryeburgacademy.org/tickets or call 207-935-9232.
