LEWISTON — The city clerk’s office will hold extended evening hours on Wednesday, Oct. 30, to accommodate residents who wish to register to vote or who would like to cast an absentee ballot in person.
Early voting polls are in the City Council chambers on the first floor of City Hall. They will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
In a new release issued by the city, City Clerk Kathy Montejo said, “We recognize that many voters may not be able to make it into City Hall during our regular hours, so we are pleased to offer extended hours to accommodate voters who cannot otherwise get to the building before closing time.”
The statewide deadline for requesting an absentee ballot is the close of business Thursday, Oct. 31. Residents who would like an absentee ballot mailed to their home need to call the clerk’s office at 513-3124 no later than 4:30 p.m. Thursday so that request can be processed and a ballot mailed.
All completed absentee ballots must be returned to the clerk’s office no later than 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5.
