AUBURN — Police are investigating a string of daytime burglaries in South Auburn in the past week. Seven homes have been broken into, police said, with jewelry and electronics as the main targets for the thieves.

Police said the burglaries have taken place when people are not home, with suspects forcing their way through locked doors.

Until they locate the culprits, police are asking that neighbors look out for one another. Residents are asked to call 911 if they see suspicious people in their neighborhood or if they see an unknown car parked in a neighbor’s driveway during the day.
