LEWISTON — Students at Longley Elementary School had the opportunity to visit Community Credit Union’s Lewiston branch in July. The visit was part of Longley’s Camp Learn A Lot initiative, a program designed to reinforce basic literacy and math skill.
A group of 35 students from the summer program marched up from Longley Elementary School to the Pine Street location of Community Credit Union. While there, the students participated in a money counting game and went on a tour.
“Supporting our neighboring schools and strengthening the financial literacy of youth in our community is part of our Credit Union’s philosophy. The children were so eager to learn; it was very rewarding to be a part of their summer program,” said Betsy Sibley, marketing/business development director.
