ANDOVER — A single-vehicle crash late Saturday afternoon sent five to Rumford Hospital, said an ambulance chief who was at the scene.
Names of those injured were not available late Saturday night; police were still at the scene.
Dean Milligan, chief of Med-Care Ambulance of Mexico, who was among those who responded, said five people were hurt when the driver of the truck or SUV they were in lost control, hit a telephone pole and went down an embankment. The crash reportedly happened on Roxbury Notch Road around 6 p.m.
The injuries weren’t believed to be life-threatening, “but there were some significant injuries,” Milligan said. “All five patients were transported to Rumford. Some of them have been transferred to other hospitals.”
