LEWISTON — Florence A. Barry, 78, of Lewiston, died Sunday, Dec. 1, at Central Maine Medical Center after a short illness.
Born in Auburn on May 22, 1935, the daughter of the late Emile and Patricia (Flynn) Pepin, she attended Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1953.
She was the wife of Dale W. Barry, whom she married on Dec. 31, 1952.
In her younger days she worked as a keypunch operator in the local shoe industry and as a certified nurse’s aide, before becoming a full-time homemaker and mother.
She traveled the world with her family in support of her husband’s long military career.
Besides her husband of Lewiston; she is survived by one son, David Barry and his wife, Jolene, of Lewiston; one daughter, Darlene Hayward and her husband, Richard, of Winthrop; one brother, Paul Pepin and his wife, DeAnn, of Poland; two sisters, Sylvia Spellar of Lewiston and Lucille Giguere of Greene; one sister-in-law, Barbara Pepin of Utah; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Michael Barry, in 2008; and by a brother, Joseph Pepin.
