AUBURN — Spruce Mountain utilized three players to score 52 of its 58 points, as the Phoenix emerged in the fourth quarter to top St. Dom’s 58-44 in an MVC boys’ basketball matchup Friday night.

Tyler Kachnovich, Deonte Rina and Scottie Hall tallied 19, 18 and 15 points, respectively, for the Phoenix in the victory. The Phoenix (4-0) were down the whole game, then found light in the fourth quarter, outscoring their opponent 22-6.

Senior Matt Dyer scored a team-high 13 points for the Saints (0-4), while Cam Raymond and Mike Bryant scored eight a piece.

North Haven 78, Rangeley 41

RANGELEY —   Senior guard Aidan Emerson poured in a game-high 25 points to lead North Haven to a 78-41 victory over Rangeley in boys’ basketball action Friday.

The Hawks (1-1) were good at breaking the press the entire game. Avery Waterman contributed a strong 23 points, while Ethan Mao pitched in with 20 points.

The Lakers (0-3) committed 27 turnovers. Sophomore center Wyatt Dellavalle recorded 17 points, while Tim White added 13 points for Rangeley.

Lewiston 80, Skowhegan 47

LEWISTON — Junior Isaiah Harris had a team-high 14 points and eight rebounds to pace Lewiston as the Blue Devils rolled past Skowhegan 80-47 in a boys basketball matchup.

Mohamed Mohamud and Ben Howell tallied 13 points a piece for the Blue Devils (2-1). Lewiston utilized the likes of 10 players, who all scored at least a basket on the night.

Issac Witham led the Indians (0-3) with 23 points, while Dan Quirion finished with eight.

Winthrop 71, Mt. Abram 55

WINTHROP — Matt Sekarek drained 19 points as Winthrop ran past Mt. Abram 71-55 in boys’ varsity basketball action Friday.

Dakota Carter had 16 from the field for the Ramblers (2-1), while Ben Allen added 15 of his own. Carter added nine rebounds, six steals and two assists to his resume on Friday. Sekarek also chipped in on defense with eight steals and three rebounds.

Tristan Dyer and Dan Luce were the high scorers for the Roadrunners (1-3), scoring 13 and 12 points respectively.
