DIXFIELD — With the score notched up 10-10 at the end of the first quarter, Dirigo’s offense ignited as the Cougars outstreched Lisbon 58-40 in MVC boys’ basketball action.

Riley Robinson led the way for the Cougars (3-0), recording 21 points to go along with five rebounds and seven assists. Rainy Hutchins had a team-high eight rebounds, while chipping in seven points and six steals.

Senior Tucker Brannon led the Greyhounds (1-3) with 18 points, nine from behind the arc.

North Haven 65, Rangeley 39

RANGELEY — Avery Waterman shot a game high 24 points to lead North Haven as it rolled past Rangeley 65-39 in boys’ basketball action Saturday.

Ethan Mao recorder 17 points of his own for the Hawks (4-1). Aidan Emerson and Dalton Hornsby chipped in a sufficient 11 points each to pace the North Haven offense.

Wyatt Dellavalle led the Lakers (0-4), scoring eight points on the afternoon. Tim White and Orrin Mitchell both added in six a piece for Rangeley.

Oak Hill 59, Telstar 27

WALES — Derek Gamage nailed a game-high 13 points to lead Oak Hill to a 59-27 victory over Telstar in a boys’ MVC basketball match up Saturday.

Jonah Martin worked right behind Gamage with 12 points of his own. Parker Asselin added in nine buckets for the Raiders (2-2).

Mike Dougherty and Maverick Griffin led the Telstar offense with eight points each. The Rebels move to 1-3 on the season.

Boothbay 75, Monmouth 41

BOOTHBAY HARBOR — John Hepburn drained a game high 29 points for Boothbay as the Seahawks cruised past Monmouth 75-41 in a MVC boys’ basketball contest Saturday.

J. Hepburn got work done on both sides of the floor, grabbing a game high eight rebounds for the Seahawks (2-1). Evan Hepburn worked well with his brother, adding in 10 points on the day.

Marcques Houston recorded a team-high 18 points for the Mustangs, who drop to 2-2 on the season.

Gardiner 57, Leavitt 46

TURNER — Seth McFarland and Bradley Weston recorded 14 points each to give Gardiner the edge as the Tigers topped Leavitt 57-46 in KVAC boys’ basketball action Saturday.

Joe Harnett chipped in 10 points for the Tigers (2-1) who outscored Leavitt by 10 in the fourth quarter to secure the victory. Mitchell Davis had a team high 12 points for the Hornets (0-4).

Boys’ ice hockey

St. Dom’s 2, Cheverus 0

AUBURN — Cam Stewart and Dillon Pratt found the back of the net, scoring once each for St. Dom’s as they outstretched Cheverus 2-0 in boys’ ice hockey action Saturday.

St. Dom’s had a lot of opportunities on the afternoon, taking advantage of 1 of 6 power plays, while creating 25 shots on goal. Netminder Caleb Dostie paced the Saints (2-1), making 19 saves in net.

Mt. Ararat/Lisbon 2, Windham 1

GORHAM — Kyle Lussier made quick work, scoring 2:30 into the first period and then once again in the third period, as Mt. Ararat/Lisbon stopped a late comeback to beat Windham 2-1 in boys’ ice hockey action.

Lussier found his second goal of the afternoon off a feed from Mark Abreu and Andrew Gardiner. Kyle Welsh turned back 18 shots in net for Mt. Ararat.

Gage Chenard provided the lone goal for Windham, who tried to have a late surge in the final period of play. Clayton Owens had a busy day in net for the Eagles, stopping 37 shots in net.

Girls’ basketball

Leavitt 51, Gardiner 40

TURNER — Leavitt outscored the Gardiner Tigers 15-4 in the third quarter to give them the edge, as they edged them out 51-40 in a girls’ KVAC basketball contest.

Sierra Santomango led the way for the Hornets (2-2) with 14 points, while Kendra Gilbert netted 10 points as well. Ally Day drained a game high 16 points for the Tigers, who took their first loss of the season.

Rangeley 60, North Haven 20

RANGELEY — Sophomore Blayke Morin had a busy night, recording a game leading 29 points for Rangeley as the Lakers routed North Haven 60-20 in a girls’ varsity basketball contest Saturday morning.

Morin got the job done in multiple ways on the court, grabbing eight rebounds, making five assists and snagging five steals for the Lakers (4-0). Maddie Hallowell tallied eight points on the night for the Hawks (0-4), six of which came from the free-throw line.
